SELECTED WORKSee what happened.
Different organizations come to JKS with different needs. See how we helped move the work from need to execution.
Your Event Happened Once. Your Content Should Keep Working.
Global Glimpse needed more than a record of an important presentation. JKS captured CEO Eliza Pesuit’s appearance at INDIECultivate Boston and developed reusable media designed to extend the value of the moment beyond the room.
Your Students Are Solving Real Problems. They Need Practitioner Insight.
JKS brought an independent filmmaker’s perspective into a collaborative design process connecting storytelling, creative systems and human-centered problem-solving.
John participated in discovery and a follow-up co-design discussion.
He shared filmmaking practices and constraints, responded to the students’ proposed concepts, and contributed feedback grounded in production experience.
The exchange gave students access to a working creative as they developed their thinking.
Your Students Love Music and Media. They Need a Pathway Into the Work.
John coordinated with Match around the studio experience and prepared a lesson plan, schedule, take-home reference materials, and pre- and post-experience evaluation materials.
Instruction introduced microphones and polar patterns, studio gear, software, and the relationship between recording and sound editing. Career mapping connected technical activities with the work people perform in the industry.
The experience was designed around a real production workflow so students could connect what they were learning to what was happening in the room.
HOW JKS WORKSFrom need to done.
Every project is different. The process shouldn't be confusing. We start with what needs to happen, build the right approach around it, and manage the work through delivery.
01Understand the need.
We start with the objective, audience, timing, constraints, and what success needs to look like.
02Build the approach.
JKS determines the scope, resources, creative direction, and people needed to move the work forward.
03Put it into motion.
We coordinate the agreed work, communication, production, and moving pieces through the project.
04Deliver.
The work moves through completion, review, and final delivery according to the agreed scope.
ONGOING PARTNERSHIPSSome things need to happen more than once.
For organizations with recurring creative needs, an ongoing JKS partnership provides continuity without rebuilding the relationship, team, and process for every new project.
Continuity
Work with a creative partner that already understands your organization, priorities, and ongoing needs.
Capacity
Add creative and production support when internal time, people, or resources are limited.
Coordination
Keep recurring work organized through a consistent relationship and working process.
FOUNDER / CREATIVE DIRECTORMeet John Kind.
John Ravenell Jr., professionally known as John Kind, founded John Kind Studios with a passion for helping organizations tell stories that matter.
What began as a creative production business has evolved into a collaborative creative partner for nonprofits, businesses, educational institutions, entrepreneurs, and community organizations seeking more than just a vendor.
John believes the best creative work begins with listening. By taking the time to understand each client's mission, audience, and goals, he helps shape projects that are intentional, authentic, and built for lasting impact.
Rather than approaching every project with a one-size-fits-all solution, John works alongside clients to identify opportunities, develop strategy, and when necessary, assemble the right team to bring each vision to life.
His goal is simple: build relationships based on trust, creativity, and results that clients are proud to share.
John founded JKS around a way of working that had already shaped his own creative life: understand what needs to happen, bring the right pieces together, and move the work forward.
