Overview

The Creative Identity Lab was developed by John Kind Studios LLC as an interactive public storytelling experience designed to help community members explore identity, belonging, and creativity through sound, oral history, and conversation.

Hosted within the Cambridge KiOSK initiative in Harvard Square, the activation combined audio recording, interview design, live engagement, and participatory storytelling methods to create an accessible environment for reflection and connection.

The project explored how public creative spaces can encourage community participation while documenting personal narratives connected to place, memory, and identity.

Objectives

  • Create a welcoming public storytelling environment

  • Encourage community participation through audio and conversation

Concept Development

Developed the original “Creative Identity Lab” framework centered around:
